After Effects - November 2023
The audio and typography I chose to animate is from the Netflix movie Someone Great. It follows a girl name Jenny navigating through a sudden break up with her long-term boyfriend, Nate. The final scene of the movie is a monologue of Jenny writing in her journal on the subway about her feelings towards Nate and their breakup. The end of the movie is a surprise because they don’t hate each other or get back together like most movies. Instead, they have a healthy understanding that sometimes two people just grow apart. The final scene of the movie is arguably the most touching and powerful because of this monologue.
